roughly bundles a dozen small daily estimation games, each asking a question nobody knows exactly, such as where an animal lives, what something cost in 1914 or which way a river runs. Every game has five rounds of one guess each, and the reveal shows the true value, its source and how far off you landed. It's free to play in your browser, with five rounds in each of twelve games a day and no account needed. There is no unlimited mode: once today's puzzle is done, the next one comes tomorrow.
How to play roughly
- Pick a game from the menu, such as Where?, How big?, How expensive? or Which way?, or start with Today's mix.
- Answer each round with a single gesture: drop a pin on the map, drag a slider, or draw a direction.
- You get one shot per round; the reveal shows the real answer, where the number comes from, and your miss in kilometres or as a factor.
- After five rounds, compare your guesses with where other players landed, or open a room to play the same rounds with friends.
Tips
- Anchor on something you already know, like a nearby country or a familiar price, then adjust from there.
- Numbers are judged by ratio, so for very large or small values think in orders of magnitude first.
- On the blank map, use coastlines and climate zones to place a range before fine-tuning the pin.
We never post the answer to today's puzzle.
