Weaver gives you a start word and a target word and asks you to connect them with a chain of real words, changing exactly one letter at each step. Letters that match the target turn green as you go, and the aim is to reach the target in the fewest steps. It's free to play in your browser, with one ladder a day, plus sister puzzles and no account needed. There is no unlimited mode: once today's puzzle is done, the next one comes tomorrow.
How to play Weaver
- Type a four-letter word that differs from the word above it by exactly one letter.
- Every step must be a real word; letters that match the target word turn green.
- Keep changing one letter at a time until you reach the target word.
- Try to match the shortest possible path, which is shown when you finish.
Tips
- Work backward from the target word as well as forward; meeting in the middle is often easier.
- Vowels are the hardest letters to swap, so plan the vowel change early.
- Avoid fixing letters that are already green unless you have to detour.
